Just Get Up and Dance!

I always say, “Dance while you can” because you never know when the music will stop.  Our lives are a series of moments that make up our memories, we choose to cherish them or throw them away.  But they are never really gone; we may have to dig deep to find those moments in time but when we do…the tears may flow, or the laughter may abound; either way those moments helped shape who we are today.

My thoughts seem to be all over the place today.  If I had to write my thoughts poem, I wouldn’t know where to begin.  We often have days like that; a sense of confusion about our life or where it’s going.  “Am I doing the right thing? Am I going down the right path?”  You know, one of those days?

God seemed to have a common theme in mind for me today, that was to live my life and not sit idly by.  A few different people put things in front of me today that spoke of just that.  How many of us just settle and take the easy way out because we don’t want to make that decision about our life?  A decision that could take us to the moon and back if we let it.  Are you where you want to be right now?  Are you with the person that will go with you to the moon and back?  I was reminded today from reading my grandmothers journal (She’s been gone since I was 14) that we all have that awesome opportunity to do what we want with our lives, to be with THAT person who will share in our adventures and live life to the fullest everyday.  But we have to take action to have that in our life.  No one is just going to hand it to you.  “You mean we have to do some work to get it?”  If you want the mirror ball trophy, you’re going to have to do a little work.  Happiness doesn’t come easy.     My grandmothers journal was full of joy, peace, and a sense of fulfilment.  Her life had a purpose.  Her life counted.  Her words smiled back at me as if to say…dance Kim, dance.

She didn’t let the death of my grandfather stop her from living.  She traveled all over the world.  Her life was fulfilled by the people she met and the unknown that met her daily.  I see where I get my sense of adventure.  Thank you Grandma:)

We have to stop and look at our lives from time to time.  We need a tune-up now and then; a few tweaks and adjustments and we are on our way.

I will do all that I can, with whatever I have, wherever I am… and I’ll let that be good enough for me, because I walk forward in the certainty that my dance is secure.  Thank you Lord .

No one cares if you can’t dance well,  just get up and dance!!!
